Dear Mrs Wright,

Thank you for the cool book that you have given me to read. I enjoy reading the rugby books that you have given to me. I also like how you help other people by paying for the books. I would like you to come to our school next year in 2013 to visit. You also helped me achieve my goals at school by reading lots of books.

When I leave school I hope you come to visit me at college and also bring me some more books so I can be a great reader.

The Lego Story

LEGO started by being made out of wood. The name LEGO came from a truck which had LEGO written on the side. Godfred was Oli’s son. LEGO started in Switzerland in 1942. The story was set in the olden days.

LEGO come out at 1942 and it is still out today. The LEGO shop got burnt down 3 times but they never gave up. Oli and Godfrey got in big trouble because a man wanted to buy the toys but he did not have enough money to buy them and they did not have enough money to buy food. They went over to England to sell LEGO and it sold really well.
Godfrey made a LEGO amusement park and he called it LEGOLand.

Film Festival

On Wednesday we went over to the Manaiakalani Film Festival at the movies. We went on a bus but I didn't go with my class I went with room7. We had a child from room1 to look after but I didn’t have one so we went down to the bus we got on, then we left.

When we got to the theatre I went to the top, I was one of the lucky people because we got big chairs. I saw Oscar, he said to me to come and sit with him so I did, I was one of the lucky people.

After that I saw Ezra looking for a seat so I told
him to come and sit next to me and Oscar. There
was a button that you push and the chair goes up or down.

The movies started, it went dark and Mr Coakley came up and said “welcome everyone” he told us to enjoy the movies and don’t move out of our seats when the movies are finished. When Mr Coakley finished saying his speech the lights went off, it was very dark and fun when it was starting.

The movie I liked the best was Room 7’s because I liked the song they sang, which they also wrote themselves.
 

Life Education

We went to the life education van. We learned  with Harold food that you are not alound to eat and food that you are alound to eat. I and the class learn that when we eat something the teeth and the tongueand the saliva helps you  to chew the food in your mouth.

Sportsmanship

If you want to be a sportsmanship you have to follow the rule and say want the referee says be fair and don’t cheat do don’t start up fight and don’t talk back to the referee and be friendly to your team mate and everyone lies on the fired and don’t hurt others.

My Duffy story

My favorite part of the Duffy show was when Scruffy cried because it was funny when he cried. I liked how Scruffy said Wiripepu instead of Piri Weepu. and also how scruffy action like are girl and also how duffy does not  play with scruffy

The Mysterious stone

I was walking down to the shop when suddenly I heard a rock coming down from space. When the rock landed everybody all looked at the rock. I walked closer to the rock and touched it, it was so hot.
 
I dialed 111 so the fire engine would come and have a look at the rock. I told everyone it was going to be all right because the Fire engine was on the way. They all said "thank God". 

After 1 minute the Fire engine arrived. They got the hose and pulled it out and hosed the rock. When they finished housing the rock the rock was smokey.

MUSICAL EVENING

At Saint Pius X School we had a musical evening. It was on the 30th of August. There were mums, dads, nanas, aunties and uncles

There was a BBQ at 5:30pm but the musical evening started at 6:00pm. When I got to school I saw Christopher, Frank and also Justin . When I went to buy my sausage I said to Frank “lets go and pick up Misoitei “ and he said “yeah lets go”, so we went. When we were halfway there we saw him coming with his mum so we run to him and then walked back to school.

The musical evening was starting so we went to the hall and sat down with our class. The Musical evening finally began. We started  off with a prayer from room 2, they sang a song. After that the room 7 girls came up and did a maori dance called “Tutira Mai”.

Later on it was our turn, we sang ‘Somewhere out there’ and ‘Puppet on a string’. When we got up to the stage I was nervous and I looked up, I laughed  and then I looked down. When we  started my aunties said my name very loud then I smiled. After that when my auntie said my name very loudly I I started singing again. Rachel and Ana sang the solo and we sing the choir part. I felt shy when we were singing especially when my auntie said “go Rachel”. Later on when it was finished we bowed and went to sit down.

My favorite part was room 7’s meke dance. I like about the Musical Evening because it was fun.

X Country Recount

On a beautiful day we had X country it was at St Pius X Catholic School. There were mums, dads and brothers also Nana's there watching the children race.  

When it was our turn I told frank “lets jog” and he said “yeah” and off we went. When we started the people in our race were running and me and Frank were jogging.  When they got down the hill they were puffed out and me and frank went past them. I said to Frank “let’s run a little or Mr Coakley will catch us on the way” so we ran then me and frank were tired so we jogged again.

When we were almost at school we ran and crossed the finish line and sat down at the same time and we came 4th. Mr Gaffeny said to go to Mrs William and Mrs William said “what did you come?” to me and Frank and me and Frank said “we came 4th“ and after that we went to sit down. I said to Frank “Frank we made it” and he said “yeah we did” and me and frank were so happy.

I liked the x country because me and frank came 4th.

Netbook Description

My Netbook is really special to me because it was given to me.

My netbook is black with a shiny outside and raised keys on the keyboard. My netbook makes cool sounds  when the sound is on but in class we keep it off or on low so we don’t disturb others. My netbook Eee PC  feels smooth and slippery if I don’t hold it correctly.

My learning tool  is used in the classroom and after school I give it to the two girls to put in the C.O.W. to charge overnight. During the day when Miss G tells us to come to the mat we put our netbooks in our tote trays.
                
We use our Eee PC carefully and also we take care of our Eee PC.

Pigeon Inpossible

Plot:
They was a man walking down the street call pigeon impossible he was going to sit down with the donut but a bird came over and stand on the chair. And then Pigeon Impossible do you want my do you want my donut. But the bird flew to his face and then Pigeon Impossible fell down and then the bird flew into the box .And he using his beak to push the button and then the big red button pop up and he look at it and then he went over to the big red button and push it three time and he moved to the side and he was controlling the box .And when pigeon impossible got up the box was going to him and then box was going closer and closer to Pigeon impossible moved to the side and then the box went after a laddie and the lady was running .and it stop after that the box was shooting pigeon impossible and then pigeon went at the back of the shop later on the box fly up in the air and came back and starting shooting pigeon and then the final the box and the bird came down .And the bird open up the box and then pigeon said do you want the donut and then the bird fly out and stand on the box and then pigeon whacked the bird with the donut in his hand and then it flew out of the box and then the donut was in the air .And then it came back down and then it hit the big red button and the big rocket flew into the air and then pigeon rush to shoot the rocket. but the bird came again to him. he wanted the donut when pigeon was flying pigeon chuck the donut. And then pigeon shoot the rocket.

Imagination story

There was a boy called Sam and his mum said to him to go outside and dig a hole at the back yard, so he did. He went to the garage to get his spade and after that he went over to the back yard and he was digging deeper and deeper. Suddenly a big wind blew him into the hole. He fell way down into the hole until he landed on a chocolate house. After that he was looking around and the only thing he saw was the chocolate house and buildings, shops and trees. Sam saw a village called Chocolate Land and the houses were all made of Chocoloate.

gilitter Art

We did koru art and we also used a bit of  information from Rueben Paterson’s art. I enjoyed painting because it was fun. I found the glitter difficult because I coloured in all my painting with pastels so Miss G got the glitter and tipped it on my little koru I drew. 

Howick Historical Village

My favourite thing from our trip to Howick Historical Village was when we did the trolley, it was a bit hard. Our group went to look at the instructions.

After that we came back and carried on with our work. We got the big board and put two other pieces of wood next to it and then we put a screw and a washer in the holes. We did the next step, it said to put the meat poles into the wheel holes and then we put the pIns in the wheels so the wheels didn’t fall off. I told Andrew we were finished now and he said “yes” we were finished!

I found it easy because we had Andrew to help and I liked it because it was fun and cool.

Tom and The Dragon

One day Tom and his mum went to the beach and Tom asked mum if he could go down to the pier but his mum said “don’t go to the cave because there is a dragon in the cave”. Tom did not listen to what his mum said to him.

He went to the cave and then the dragon asked him “do you want to play chess?” and Tom said “no!” but the dragon had big teeth and had teeth like a shark. Tom went into the cave, it was a mess. Later on Tom and the dragon were playing sword games. Tom went to sit down on the dragon and then the dragon made him fall down but he came and saved him.

When the dragon and Tom were sitting down again they became friends.

School Emblem Description

Stellaluna

Stellaluna likes to eat mango and pollen.
Bats can go upside down. Bats live in Rainforests and very hot places and some bats live in caves trees and bridges.

Octapodi

Oktapodi was are short film and funny they film at Greece. The characters are Oktapodi and his girlfriend and the man.

The film is about two octopus’ and they were in are petshop. And Oktapodi was with his girlfriend in the tank. A man came over and took Oktapodi girlfriend and put her in a box and took her. Oktapodi went after the van and then the man started the van. After that Oktapodi jumped high and he was on the back of the van and after that he to the window and the man push Oktapodi. Oktapodi girlfriend pulled the brake and the man banged his head on the window.flew Oktapodi and his girlfriend flew out of the van. After that Oktapodi got back up and jumped in the pool and the man we after them. The man van luckily fell over to the beach and the 2 octopus’ got away. Suddenly a bird took Oktapodi and so now Oktapodi girlfriend has to go and rescue him.

I like the film because the bird took Oktapodi and his girlfriend had to go and rescue him.

Trash is stuff that is not able to be put in the
compost and also you can’t recycle it. Trash smells and looks yuck.

Recyclables are empty milk bottles and cracked metal cans. Recyclables are used to make other things.

Compost is old food and it smells disgusting and it is also very grouse.

We said the sign of the cross and we started our pray. We closed our eyes because we were thinking about God. We sat in a circle and we started our Prayer.

The leader read the pray and after that we said the our father.together  We then closed the prayer with the sign of the cross. After that we blow the leaders blew out the candles in pray time.

I think about God and Christchurch when I pray. I think about the people who don”t have home to live in.

Reflect on the last 3 weeks

In the last three weeks we have learnt how to play soft ball and also how to log in our Google docs and log into our blog.

Netbook Rollout

On Thursday we had a cool day because we had to have a look at our net books together.

Miss G said to open the box carefully and open the net book up. After that Miss G said to take off the sticky tape and we did. We worked on our net books and Miss G said to do our password and to make sure it was around 8 letters and we did it. Some of us had some problems with our net book, one was me and the other was Christopher, he forgot his password and I had some problems on my net book. After that we had some time to play on our net books and it was fun and cool to play on our net books for the first time. Me and my friend had fun and we played games.

It the was fun and cool to get our netbooks. After that the bell rang After that we went home.

Peculiar Person

I’m a most peculiar person,

As almost everyone knows.

I’ve a crown on the top of my head,

And nails grow out of my toes.

I’ve eardrums that help me hear.

And eyeballs that help me see,

And there’s even a mole on the tip of my nose,

Yes, there’s nobody quite like me.

I’ve got ‘mussels’ that grow in my arms and my legs,

And shoulder blades on my back.

I’ve a rib-cage to hold my heart in -

There’s really not much that I lack.

There’s a button that does up my tummy,

And my funny-bone keeps me amused.

When I look at myself in the mirror,

It’s no wonder I feel confused.

I’m a most unusual person,

And even my doctor agrees,

For that’s what he said when he came to examine

The caps that I have on my knees.

And I sometimes get pins and needles,

When it’s raining cats and dogs,

But what else could you really expect,

From a person whole throat’s full of frogs!

Charism

This week we have been looking at the school Charism. Our school emblem represents things and these are them: The cross represents of our faith, the blue represents the water, the green represents the land the circle represents the sun. Margaret Alyward started our school in 1958 with the Holy Faith Sister's. I have drawn the emblem of St Pius X school.
